“Male enhancement” can mean changing penile appearance, addressing erection difficulties, or improving confidence. Those goals are not interchangeable. At Luxura Med Spa, start by explaining which concern matters to you so the consultation can focus on an appropriate assessment and realistic options.
Cosmetic Girth and Sexual Function Are Different Goals
Hyaluronic acid penile filler is intended to add volume. It should not be presented as a treatment that automatically improves erections, sensation, or sexual satisfaction. A change in appearance and a change in function need to be evaluated separately.
The Sexual Medicine Society of North America’s position on cosmetic penile enhancement discusses temporary girth changes with certain fillers while emphasizing patient selection, realistic expectations, and the need for more evidence. There is no FDA-approved dermal filler indication for penile enlargement; approval of a filler for facial use does not establish approval for genital use.
What About Neurotoxins and Growth Factors?
Luxura has described enhancement approaches involving neurotoxins, growth factors, and filler. These should be considered as separate interventions rather than a standard package every patient needs. Ask the clinician to identify each product, its intended purpose, approval status, and the evidence for using it in that location.
PRP prepared from your blood is not the same as a separately manufactured growth-factor product. The American Urological Association considers PRP for erectile dysfunction experimental. Our P-Shot guide explains that distinction and why a promised improvement in size or performance is not an appropriate expectation.
Assessment Comes Before a Procedure
Discuss medical conditions, current medicines, previous injections or surgery, and any pain or changes in erections. If erectile dysfunction is the main concern, ask whether a urologic assessment and established treatment options should come first. A cosmetic consultation should not replace investigation of a new sexual-health symptom.
You should also have space to discuss your expectations without pressure to schedule. Ask what the clinician would consider a realistic result and which goals the proposed procedure cannot achieve.
Risks, Recovery, and Follow-Up
Discuss bruising, swelling, pain, infection, lumps, uneven contour, and possible need for corrective treatment. Serious complications can occur. Numbing does not make injections risk-free, and “no downtime” should not substitute for a written recovery plan.
The timing of sexual activity, exercise, follow-up visits, and any additional treatment must be individualized. Combining procedures or traveling for treatment makes a clear follow-up arrangement especially important. Do not assume another patient’s schedule or result will apply to you.
